weekend happenings only 2 announcements! 1. we'd be visiting Keith & Ezra's homes this sun. meet in church at 11am, so please go for 5pm or 9am service ya? oh! remember to bring a pair of oranges for bai nian (pay respect). I know it's old-fashioned, but it's good to keep some traditions alive, we christians have killed so many :) Keith's mom says she will prepare lunch for us. But if the rest of you want to bring food (bcos we said we'd do potluck), please let keith know via sms k? 2. This sat, there's a session on How To Make Small Talk with our friends. It's organized by the Befrienders from the V-day comm, to help us learn how to have meaningful conversations with our friends. It's 3-4.30pm. Venue will prob be one of the Galilee rooms. Since there's no cg this sat, you are highly encouraged to come for this session. hope to see you there :) please sms me by fri to let me know if you are coming for this session. 3. this sat, 24 jan Hey trigger, the new set of questions! there are 4, qn1 is a repeat of the last Bible study session. so do think it through deeper, because we didn't really get much time to do so the last time. sorry for rushing!! hopefully tomorrow we can share at a deeper level ;) oh, a few announcements: 1. CNY visitation. we'd confirm a date tomorrow, but looks like we'd most prob visit on 7Feb Sat. ask your parents if they're willing to open up their homes for our growing cg to visit! 2. Pastor Edward says we MUST finish home blessing by this sunday, if not the oranges will be rotten. So, tomorrow after service or after cg, we die-die must finish. 3. Caleb says please bring the consent forms for Feb Open Sunday, signed. 2 Corinthians 5: 17-21 1. John Wesley said, All things are become new - He has new life, new senses, new faculties, new affections, new appetites, new ideas and conceptions. From v17, list in YOUR LIFE, the old things that have gone, and the new that have come. 2. Why do you think God reconciled us to him? (v18) 3. What does it mean to be an ambassador for Christ? (v20) Think of concrete ways you can be an ambassador for Christ in your school, your CCA, leisure time, home, etc.. 4. In v21, Paul says God saved us so that we might become "the righteousness of God". From the way you are living your life now, do you think you have become "the righteousness of God"? 2Cor Bible study for sat Hi Trigger, please read 2 Corinthians 5 (the WHOLE chapter) and answer the questions below. You can use the journal I gave u guys at watchnight. 1. In vs 12, Paul says there are people who take pride in "what is seen rather than what is in the heart". a) How do we take pride in what is "seen"? b) How do we take pride in "the heart"? 2a. Honestly, who/what do you live for? b)What does Paul say in vs 15 that we should live for? 3. What does it mean to regard from a "worldly point of view" vs16? Is your point of view, "wordly? 4. What does it mean to "regard" Christ vs16? 5. What does it mean to be "in Christ" vs 17? b. What does it mean to be "a new creation"? c.
